Get involved with EVENTS for 2008
On Wednesday, June 7, 2006 the US House of Representatives passed the Resolution #699 supporting National Entrepreneurship Week! Thanks to everyone who supported the Consortium in making this happen. Share with your networks the Testimony offered by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Congress as a whole. Thanks to Congressmen David Price and Tom Osborne for being co-sponsors.
- Start with ideas for Events that we suggested in 2007. These 25 ideas are a good place to spark your thinking. We welcome your ideas to add to this list.
- Sign up as a LEADER to be listed as an active supporter of National Entrepreneurship Week - 2008. This year we plan to have "National Leaders" "State Leaders" and "Local Leaders", all working together to make this week FANTASTIC! Sign up by sending an Email with your name, complete contact information, and initial ideas for being involved at National, State, or Local Levels.
- Share the Consortium press release announcing the dates for the 2nd Annual National Entrepreneurship Week and add information about your own involvement as a "Leader". Copy it from the Consortium News Room and watch for additional releases during the year.
- Connect with other entrepreneurship advocates/providers within your state to provide information to the public about services available to assist individuals in becoming successful entrepreneurs. Share your entrepreneurial success stories with administrators, school boards, teachers at all levels, community leaders, and parents.
- Organize as a State Leadership Team to ensure that during National Entrepreneurship Week 2008 your state has celebrations and publicity opportunities to capitalize on the national buzz about entrepreneurship. Check here for the list of State Leadership Team contacts from 2007. If your state does not have a State Leadership Team listed on the Consortium website, contact us for ideas about how to create one.
- Plan to attend the 25th Anniversary Entrepreneurship Education FORUM in Charleston, SC, November 3 - 6, 2007. Meet with over 300 educators involved with entrepreneurship education as a lifelong learning process, and help us plan for a fantastic National Entrepreneurship Week in 2008.
- Join together with other entrepreneurship advocates/providers within the state to link websites so that individuals have access to entrepreneurial services from a single site.
- Celebrate the contributions of entrepreneurs in your state and encourage entrepreneurship-friendly economic development and legislation policies.
- Jointly publicize the opportunities for entrepreneurs to make contributions to the economy. Your local media is looking for success stories of youth and adults.
- Ensure that your entrepreneurship education services are listed in the data base, ENTREPRENEURSHIP EVERYWHERE, on the Consortium website
- Utilize the logo and branding materials we will provide for National Entrepreneurship Week 2008 as you develop the celebrations/activities within your state and community to ensure that the visibility for the week gains momentum. Help all citizens of the USA become more aware of the contributions and opportunities for entrepreneurship within our economy. You have permission to copy and use the special logos and links from our website.
- Share your activities, ideas, and events with us starting now...and we will post your information to share nationwide.
