Black Enterprise Magazine

Kidpreneurs is Black Enterprise magazine's entree into creating products for the African-American children's market. The Kidpreneurs Konference is committed to developing the entrepreneurial potential of children.

L.P.V.E.C. Career & Technical Education Center

Check out the entrepreneurship game developed in the classroom, for the classroom. Collaborative effort on the part of the two teachers and their students to create a business simulation. Developed as a simple exercise to review the vocabulary and parts of the business plan, the game evolved into a simulation. Emphasis is on teamwork, decision-making, and financials. Successfully completing the game means the business plan is correct enough that the player could "set up shop".

Use the game as a tool to reinforce the basics of starting a business or play at a more advanced level to prove the students are future entrepreneurs!

    Teachers Guide for Teaching Entrepreneurship
    Eastern Michigan University

    The Michigan Office of Career and Technical Education, in its effort to assist teachers in their delivery of entrepreneurship education, has sponsored the development of a series of three teaching guides. These guides provide direction for teachers teaching at the following stages of entrepreneurship education:

    • Awareness stage: (A Guide for Infusing Entrepreneurship Awareness into Vocational Education),
    • Business creation (The Michigan Entrepreneurship Education Handbook), and
    • Start-up and growth stage (Entrepreneurship Education II: A Handbook for Teaching Advanced Courses in Entrepreneurship)

    The author, Earl Meyer, was a professor of marketing education and the interim department head of business and technology education at Eastern Michigan University. He has taught entrepreneurship education at the high school level and for the past several years has provided workshops in teaching entrepreneurship for Michigan teachers.

    Meyer is co-author of Glencoe/McGraw-Hill's high school textbook, Entrepreneurship Awareness into Vocational Education; The Michigan Entrepreneurship Education Handbook; and Entrepreneurship Education II: A Handbook for Teaching Advanced Courses in Entrepreneurship.
