The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education

The members of the Entrepreneurship Consortium are champions for ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION at all levels of education and across all disciplines in America and the world.

We encourage education leaders everywhere to join us in sharing ideas for empowering youth and adults to recognize the opportunities of an entrepreneurial career and develop the knowledge and skills that lead to success. Please take time to think about the Consortium's CORE VALUES that guide our partner initiatives. We believe that the multiple experiences from many diverse programs and activities are all part of preparing students to be the entrepreneurial leaders of the future.

The Consortium was created by the International Enterprise Academy at the Ohio State University in 1980 and has become a private, non-profit corporation since 1998. Annual membership is available for state departments of education in the United States or nations outside the United States as the primary membership group and governing body of the organization. Other organizations may choose to become a corporate member as well. This corporate membership varies by year based on Consortium priorities and educational budget constraints. The work of the Consortium saves members duplication of effort and provides resources for teachers in their states. To become one of our leadership organizations please send the Corporate Membership Form to join us.

Memberships as a Partner or Sponsor Is Open to All

Membership as a Partner or Sponsor is available to any other entrepreneurship organization as advocates or entrepreneurship educators, and brings the same benefits of sharing input and output in meeting the needs of members in support of all types of entrepreneurship development. This includes local schools or school districts, universities or community colleges, business organizations, and non-profit organizations interested in developing entrepreneurship education. Become a Consortium organization by sending us this Partner membership form.

Teachers/Instructors have a special membership category!

Individual teachers have often requested a special rate for a personal membership, and now it is available. Benefits will be appropriate for this level of membership, providing instructors an opportunity to stay tuned to the field, promote their programs and ideas, and receive a discount on registration costs for the Annual FORUM. See the attached Ambassador membership form for specific details.

Benefits to member organizations

  • Each year we offer members Consortium-created materials to share with others in your networks. We search for various types of materials that save you time and development costs and post them for easy download from our website.

  • The purpose of the Consortium's first web page is to provide information and resources "for teachers, instructors, program developers, and others who help students of all ages find their own entrepreneurial opportunities." Choices include articles about entrepreneurship education, links to other organizations, conference and workshop information, resource materials, model programs, learning activities, presentation masters, case studies, curriculum, and information about the Consortium. We encourage everyone, whether you are a member or not, to send us profiles of your organization and its services for the ENTREPRENEURSHIP EVERYWHERE database.

  • The Consortium is committed to hosting National Entrepreneurship Week each year as a special opportunity to let the nation know about all of the great programs and activities supporting entrepreneurship nationwide. We created a second website to publicize the nationwide growth of the entrepreneurship initiatives and support leadership teams in every state where the entrepreneurial spirit is integral to economic growth. The first three years of hosting annual events in February, 2007, 2008 and 2009, were very successful. Join us to be part of the Leadership team for each state, promoting everyone's entrepreneurship activities YearRound.

  • Successful young student entrepreneurs tell their stories in the monthly magazine "Future CEO Stars" produced by the Consortium in cooperation with member organizations. Readers can sample the magazine and subscribe on our third website www.futureceostars.com. We encourage sponsors to support annual subscriptions for groups of students and teachers, and advertisers to be part of this unique magazine that reaches the youth market.

  • All types of members participate in the annual conference, The Annual Entrepreneurship Education Forum, held each year in different locations in the United States. This is a chance to meet other educators and learn about their strategies for delivering programs and meeting the challenges of the educational systems (k-16 and adult).

We welcome new members interested in sharing ideas and supporting entrepreneurship education throughout the nation and the world.
