Why Entrepreneurship Education?

This section provides you with a number of items to explain the need for entrepreneurship education in a variety of educational settings. Feel free to copy these articles for local use. They provide a number of viewpoints on the importance of this new area of education. They are suitable for reprinting in newsletters or for use as handouts at workshops or in classrooms. * NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION CONTENT STANDARDS

The Standards and performance indicators were developed based on focus groups with entrepreneurs across the US, asking what they do and what they need to know to do it. * Criteria for Youth Entrepreneurship Education Programs - the NATIONAL STANDARDS of PRACTICE for ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION

Design your entrepreneurship education program with this criteria in mind. National leadership groups developed the Criteria and the accompanying brochure to help the field of entrepreneurship education grow successfully. The National Standards of Practice are intended to provide encouragement and ideas to facilitate entrepreneurship education with the structure to assure a consistent and high-quality result. The Standards are just like a "recipe book" for establishing effective entrepreneurial learning opportunities for students at all levels of the Lifelong Learning model! There is also an assessment rubric that allows program developers and deliverers to examine their status in relationship to the National Standards of Practice. Continue.
