Leadership and Advocacy Award - 2008
Members are encouraged to send a package nominating individuals or organizations that have demonstrated sustained and outstanding national/international leadership and advocacy for entrepreneurship education. The leadership and advocacy should have been at a level beyond a specific community, institution or state/province. Award nominees should have made contributions that are noteworthy in advancing the mission of entrepreneurship education to enhance lifelong learning. Nominees may be from any level of education (K-20), the business world, non-profit organizations, or the political realm.
This award was presented by the Consortium officers in previous years as follows:
- 2006 - Cathy Ashmore, Consortium Founder and Executive Director
- 2007 - USA Today - Education, represented by Shobha Giordano
- 2007 - Rosalind Denning - Detroit City Schools
Outstanding Entrepreneurship Educator Award - 2008
This new award established in 2008 is to honor instructors engaged in entrepreneurship at any level (K-16 and/or adult). Criteria for nomination should have been achieved within the previous five years. Recipients of the award should have made significant contributions toward the organization, implementation, development or evaluation of entrepreneurship education.
The educator's achievements may be from one or more of the following areas: classroom instruction, community-based learning, mentoring programs, internships, and/or student organization leadership. This award recognizes an entrepreneurship educator who has provided outstanding service to the field of entrepreneurship education through activities that align to the Consortium's Vision and Mission.
Nominations for both awards from Consortium members are due October 15, 2008
