Focus of the annual conference is on creativity and innovation as well as the diversity of exciting entrepreneurs in the area
CALL FOR PROGRAMS
Tell us what you are doing to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in America. The conference will focus on potential entrepreneurs of all ages and the role that entrepreneurship education and training plays in preparing them to create and operate successful business enterprises. Come to share your innovative entrepreneurship programs, ideas, techniques, and products with colleagues nationwide. If you are an outstanding education or service provider (and we know you are), and provide an entrepreneurship program in K-12, junior/community college, four-year college or university, adult education, or community-based organizations we encourage you to submit a proposal.
NOTE: The deadline for proposals has been extended to April 22, 2008. After that time we will continue to accept additional proposals for a waiting list. Often presenters have to change their plans by the time the fall arrives.
Concurrent Session Themes:
- DISCOVERING OPPORTUNITIES… Programs that infuse entrepreneurial experiences and concepts and encourage career exploration.
- THINK LIKE AN ENTREPRENEUR… Programs that build business competency levels for future entrepreneurs and employees, and provide contextual learning for academic skills.
- CREATE APPLICATIONS… Teaching young people to plan their own business in creative ways
- START YOUR BUSINESS… Programs that help youth and adults create a real business
- GROW YOUR BUSINESS… Unique approaches to help existing entrepreneurs survive and prosper
- GET OUTSIDE THE BOX … Programs that employ unique approaches to encourage entrepreneurship (technology-based, international markets, career specialties etc.)
- DEVELOP THE PROFESSION … Programs that help teachers and program designers
- EXAMINE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FOR THE CLASSROOM... Exhibitors bring the latest resources and offer special prices.
How to Submit Your Proposal
(NOTE SHORT TIMELINE...Proposals due April 15, 2008
Forum sessions will include entrepreneurship symposia, panel discussions, and individual presentations organized as 50-minute sessions. Submit your proposal in either Word or Word Perfect format and e-mail it directly to the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education at cashmore@entre-ed.org
The proposal abstract MUST be no more than two typed pages in length and MUST provide the following information which will be reproduced on our website and/or in the conference program:
- Title of presentation (all caps)…short and catchy to attract an audience.
- Name, position, organization, address, email, web page, and phone number of presenter(s).
- Focus of the program
- Abstract describing purpose and content of the conference presentation. Please share experiences and ideas that can be replicated by conference participants. Participants want to take ideas and handouts home that they can use. (2-4 paragraphs maximum please)
- A short bio on the presenter(s) and description of the organization represented. (1 page maximum)
- A brief program description...a 50-word program description to be used in the conference program. The complete information provided in 4 & 5 above will be shared with participants on our website.
REGISTRATION…
EARLY Registration BEFORE Sept. 15, 2008:
. . . $325 for participants ($225 for presenters)
Regular Registration AFTER Sept. 15, 2008:
. . . $395 for participants ($275 for presenters)
(Registration covers costs of an evening reception, a luncheon, continental breakfasts, a special Monday evening dinner event, and conference materials).
NOTE: The Consortium is unable to pay honoraria or to defray travel expenses for those selected to
make presentations at the conference. However, we will reduce the overall conference fee for presenters.
The early registration fee will be $325 for attendees, but only $225 for presenters registered by September 15, 2008
