It is important for educators to see the role they are playing in preparing young people to be competitive and innovative in creating their own businesses ....and to look at it in the context of where the rest of the world is growing in geometric numbers.
- USA TODAY and Rosalind Denning, Detroit Schools, were each awarded the Excellence in Education Awards for their outstanding contributions to the field of entrepreneurship education. Press releases for the Awards are available online for USA TODAY.
- THESE KIDS MEAN BUSINES$....Thanks to Zach Richter for providing the Private Showing of this PBS Special program that features a number of Consortium member organizations and the exciting message from their young students who are starting their own businesses. - Thanks to Michael Simmons, (Extreme Entrepreneurship Education) and his great panel of young entrepreneurs (Adam Witty, Lancie Affonso, Sheena Lyndahl, and Michael Shemtov) for providing the closing motivational message about entrepreneurship as we enjoyed a wonderful dinner aboard the USS Yorktown. It was a great night on this famous old aircraft carrier and a special ending for the experience provided by these young enterpreneurs.

- 11 Teachers win Innovative Program Grants, up to $3,000 to support special entrepreneurship program activities. Thanks to the Coleman Foundation and the Appalachian Regional Commission for these awards to assist teachers provide creative activities to teach entrepreneurship in the schools.
