    Congratulations to all that received awards at the conference:

    EXCELLENCE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP...Leadership and Advocacy Award 2008.

    Receiving the 2008 Consortium Award for creating and implementing the Entrepreneurship Academy at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida, Dianne Lauramoore stands out as a leader among entrepreneurship educators in Florida and nationwide. In addition to creating her own four-year entrepreneurship academy she has provided training to others in implementing her model for an Entrepreneurship Academy for high schools everywhere. This Leadership and Advocacy Award was named after the Consortium Founder, Cathy Ashmore, and presented to her in 2006, it's first year. In 2007 the Award was presented to USA TODAY for their outstanding work in supporting entrepreneurship education.

    EXCELLENCE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP...Outstanding Educator Award 2008

    was presented to CoraMae Haskell, Business & Finance Trainer, Four Bands Community Fund, Eagle Butte South Dakota. CoraMae is a long time supporter of entrepreneurship education and an outstanding leader in initiating entrepreneurship education programs and opportunities for the Native American student population over a number of years. This is the first year for the presentation of this Outstanding Educator Award.

    Nine teachers won Grants up to $3,000 in an "Entrepreneurship Education Elevator Pitch" competition created and sponsored by the Coleman Foundation. Winners included . . .

    The Export/Import Idea Challenge was won by Rachel Pavelka,

    an eighth grade student in a Home School Program in Bellevue, NE for her video telling about her business of buying beautiful jewelry from Peru to sell in the US.

    The Student Success Story Competition was won by Susie deVille Schiffli, Mentor, OH, for her essay about student Steve Orlando

    in his senior year at Lake Catholic High School. When he could not get a 50 cent raise for outstanding sales in an ice cream shop he decided to go on his own with Orlando Cleaning Services...an attempt to clean offices in town. After lots of rejections he got a contract to clean a parking lot and now has contracts to clean 7 parking lots while also going to college.
